Time to get Active!!

When we started Shropshire Kids Festival, we promised we wouldn’t get lazy.

We are continually committed to evolve, creating something new and exciting to look forward to ever year.

And we’ve made good on our word. This year we’re introducing a NEW Sports Zone with the help of Shrewsbury Town in the Community, where the idea is to try a new sport and get everyone involved – regardless of age, size and ability.

The last few months have seen the arrival of the most fun parents can have climbing the walls with their children. an amazing set-up, superb fun and excellent facilities all make the brand new Climbing the Walls THE place to go with your kids for a day out - totally recommended, tried and tested by the Shropshire Kids Festival Team.

The Sports Zone will be jam-packed with action. There’ll be the opportunity for boys and girls to have a go at new sports and activties. And the best thing is we’re making every activity user-friendly. So those with disabilities, those who might lack confidence or those who’ve never really taken to sport will be able to have a go.

Children will receive a Sports Zone challenge card and complete different sporting trials as they make their own way around each activity. When completed, the card can be exchanged for brilliant Shrewsbury Town prizes including FREE tickets to Shrewsbury Town Football matches and FREE places at Soccer School - amazing!. So far we have clubs including football, rugby, tennis, netball, basketball, dance, cricket and gymnastics with many more different sports to be included. The Sports Zone is guaranteed to tire out those little ones for the day and provide them with lots of opportunities to get inspired and join local clubs. There will also be a show pitch where your children can join in various coaching sessions in the Sports Zone and who knows.. the next Wayne Rooney or Andy Murray is on their way to super stardom!

The Shrewsbury Club will be coaching the tennis stars of the future so come and have a go for free all day. Parents aren’t left out as they’ll also be running Les Mills fitness and Mummy fit sessions so come and get involved! No excuses Parents!
